Health reimbursement

Vergoedingen door verzekeraars bij primaire amputatie

If you are interested in our treatment, you can register via the AOFE clinics website by means of a referral (general practitioner and/or medical specialist). You register by filling in a questionnaire.

Your health insurer can help you with regard to reimbursement. If AOFE clinics has not concluded a contract with your health insurer, you can find the passer-by rates on our website. In your policy conditions, your health insurer may have indicated how much will be reimbursed for non-contracted care. If you cannot find this in your policy conditions, we advise you to contact your health insurer.

How is a care bill drawn up?

Those who go to the hospital receive care: from an examination by the doctor to an X-ray. But the hospital does not charge for these separately. They are charged in one package of care, a so-called DBC care product. DBC stands for Diagnosis Treatment Combination and therefore consists of all activities of a hospital and medical specialist that are the result of a specific care demand. Diagnosis and treatment together lead to a single price that the hospital charges. This is recorded in one administrative code.

Reimbursement, No-show rate and Rate lists

  • Because AOFE clinics does not have a contract with a health insurer, you pay the invoice directly to us before the treatment takes place. You can then submit this invoice to your health insurer. AOFE clinics advises you to contact your health insurer before you start treatment with us. They can tell you more about the compensation. AOFE clinics can prepare a letter for you in which you are asked to reimburse the costs.
  • If you do not show up for your appointment, without informing us 24 hours in advance, the costs for the consultation will be charged to you.
  • We have set a rate for each treatment. Our treatments are listed in the Passer-by rates.

Referral letter

Your general practitioner (or rehabilitation physician) plays an important role in the treatment process, because in order to be reimbursed for the care that falls under the basic package, you need a referral letter from your general practitioner or rehabilitation physician. We always ask that you email us or bring this letter with you to your first appointment. If this letter of referral is not present at your first visit, we cannot provide the treatment as reimbursed care. The care can then only take place as so-called non-reimbursed care.

Research protocols

Before you go to AOFE clinics you will be asked to have a CT scan and radiological examination. These studies should be put on a CD-ROM.

You can take the results of the examination with you to your first outpatient consultation.
